This is something I’ve been wanting to do for quiet a while, I’ve just had a hard time finding the proper colors.  I suppose it isn’t all that geeky either, but oh well!  I finally found the right colors (orange and maroon, DUH!) at a local place called Beadsburg.  It’s your typical beading place, but I didn’t even know it existed until recently.  Anyways, I knew that since it was near my school, they HAD to have our school colors and sure enough they did.  So here are some of the creations I’ve made with these awesome colors.

I got two sizes, an 11/0 and an 8/0, in both orange and maroon.  I figured I would find something to do with both sizes, and sure enough I have! The first thing I made was some twisted orange and maroon bobby pins.  They’re quick and easy to make and something I’d actually use.  I also gave a pair to my cousin since she wants to go to Tech (she’s only like 7 too!).

I also have some large bobby pins, they’re much bigger than these, that I plan on using some of the bigger beads to do twisted or single color pins, I just haven’t had the time to do it yet.

I have quiet a lot of the hoop earrings, as you’ve seen from the black and red ones I’ve used with other things.  I have a TON of silver ones and I happened across these large-ish crystal beads and I happened across the idea of being able to string stuff across the center of the hoops.  This i what I came up with.   This is one of the medium size hoops, I think it turned out pretty well.

And here are all of the sizes I’ve made.

Another short post, but I just wanted to show some of the new things I’ve made.  These are up on the How to Order page, so if you’re interested, please check it out or contact me.

You’ve seen the red earrings I did with the white and blue, so I decided to play around with the black ones.  I thought that gold and silver would go well with black.  I suppose these didn’t turn out  quite as well as I thought they would, but they’re not bad, just not my thing.  They actually look kind of Egyptian.  I also couldn’t use the clear cord like I did on the red earrings, the black ones were flat and the beads wouldn’t sit flush against it using the cord, so I used black thread and it seemed to work better.  I had intended to do some dangles on these as well, but they just didn’t look very good.

So the set on the top is a single row of silver on the black.  The bottom left is silver and gold, and the bottom right is just gold.

So the biiiig event was this weekend.  I was a little disappointed, but as my boyfriend said, people were looking for dirt cheap deals, not hand made goods with an appropriate price.  I did manage to sell a few items, three pairs of earrings, a necklace, and some of the bobby pins.  The stuff that I still have I will be posting on Etsy eventually (as well as will be for sale on the blog until then).  Anyways, I thought I’d show a few pictures of my display and all.  So here is the over all display I had the first day (my dad set it up the next few days and I didn’t get pictures, but oh well).

Yep, time for more butterflies.  I’ve had a lot of free time the last few days making stuff for the yard sale and watching over the sale and all that, so I finally used the three green glass butterfly pendants I bought a few weeks back.  I had to find some bails the other week though so that I would be able to use them as a jump ring wasn’t big enough.  I didn’t take pictures of the full necklaces this time, so if you are interested in seeing more pictures (laid out flat or being worn) please email me.  The first one I put on a strand with dark green clear seed beads and a larger silver lined bead in small increments.  I think this one looks pretty nice, especially if you love green.  In addition, the card I made myself using a label with my blog address to encourage anyone that purchases something to visit my blog and see more stuff and whatnot.  I think the cards make it look more professional as well.

The second one I made with a silver lined green because I had (I thought) ran out of the other kind, I only had about 20 or so left after making the first necklace.  This one I decided to do a double strand style, that is doing two strands of small beads between each large bead, using the same large beads as the first.

And the last one, where I *thought* I had run out of the clear dark green beads… I found a whole other flip top full of them, so I decided to use those again because it goes better with the green on the butterfly.  However, I did actually run out of the large green beads so I decided to go with a dark blue silver lined.  I think the blue really pops on this one and it was my favorite.  I also didn’t personally like the double strand so I did another single strand.

As usual, if you like any of these, they are all for sale (unless I manage to sell them in the last day of the yard sale tomorrow, which right now looks doubtful).  The prices will be up on the How to Order page.  I have more posts to come, including more earring designs and some more bobby pins (mostly to show case some different colors) as well as the success (or failure) of the yard sale this weekend.

I know I’ve posted about bangles a lot, but today I just wanted to make a quick post to show of the second fully enclosed bangle I made.  This time I used a solid pastel mix.  I think it looks very nice, better than the other mix.

And just another view of it, I can’t actually put it around my wrist, as my hand is too big hah.  I have one more mix I want to make one of these with to see how it looks.

Yeah, that’s it for today I didn’t have much to say and gotta get back to work.  But like always, check out the How to Order page if you’d like to purchase anything you’ve seen on my blog.

Okay, I’ve been promising this post and talking about it for a loooong time, so here it is!  Like I’ve said a million times… yard sale blah blah blah, trying to sell stuff blah blah blah, making non-geeky stuff, and yeah, that’s about it.  I have a lot of ideas and a lot of patterns made up, it’s just been a matter of time in being able to do it and all.

So the first thing I wanted to show you guys is… a TRIFORCE wee!  These patterns were made in a program called Bead Tool which you can download and play around with, it’s pretty neat.  Can’t copy or print from the trial version though.  So here is my version of the Triforce, I’d use two shades, a gold and a more yellow gold like here.  This size would be the larger version, such as large mushroom.  This type of stitch would be very simple to make a smaller version that would look just the same.  Like the mushrooms this could go on necklaces, key chains, earrings, anything.  Even though I haven’t made one yet, if you just have to have one please email me and see the How to Order page for pricing info and all.

In case you guys haven’t noticed… I love butterflies.  I tend to make things I find attractive or pretty, even though I don’t wear much, if any, jewelry.  I also love purple (it is epic ya know… okay bad WoW joke…).  But anyways, today I’m going to show and talk about two necklaces I’ve made.

This first one doesn’t really use a charm or anything, but I had ordered some butterfly shaped beads which I expected to be well… big.  What I got was iiiiittty bitty.  But that’s okay, I didn’t know, so I maded a use out of them anyways.  It might be hard to see, cause they are so small, but this necklace features four small butterfly Swarovski shaped crystal beads and one larger glass butterfly bead.  It’s a simple strung necklace with alternating pink and white, with just white after the butterflies start.

Our yard sale will be held on the 4th of July weekend, so I thought I’d make something festive to sell for the weekend.  This thought didn’t occur to me when I purchased some of the supplies, but I had found these packs of 9 pairs of earrings on sale at Wal-mart for $3.  They were a good size so I figured I could do something with them.  The packs had silver, red, and black hoop earrings in a small, medium, and large sizes.  As I was riding with my boyfriend after finding the earrings it came to me that I could make red, white, and blue earrings for the 4th of July with the red earrings, brilliant idea I think and they actually turned out quiet well.  This picture is pretty bad, I’m not sure what happened and was too lazy to take it again, but I tried two different styles, one with a silver and one with a white.  The white version looked  so much better that I only made one pair with the silver.
